First I had a go at creating some lenticular photos by testing out a photo shop tutorial. For the tests I just chose some pictures from my camera roll to experiment with. I experimented with using single photos and combining two photos together. The picture of me raise two photos would look good in the final product as one side would show me smiling and the other would show me wearing my mask – representing the times that we are in. Once I have created the lenticular photo shop image for the real thing you then need to laminate it using the lenticular plastic so that the image will move depending on the angle.
I have written down the step-by-step guide on how to create the lenticula photo shop image that the main key to creating this is to use the pattern tool and create a pattern will be repeated over and over again.
To get my own photos of animals that are not native to the UK and where the habitats may be in danger I went to Drusilla's Park zoo. I can use some of these photos to make them into my lenticula stamp collection. One image will use one of the photos I took at the zoo and the other will have an illustration using charcoal as it represents the destruction of habitat and a scratchiness on it also has connotations of death and extinction.
I did a mock up paper version of how the lenticule printing works. This is done by cutting the two photos into strips and taking them down alternatively then folding each one so that each image can only be viewed from one angle.
I then researched some "statements and words that can be used for impact with the images – sparking change. Some of these include quotes from Greta Thunburg and David Attenborough.
