Following on from creating my own typography I have been practising and experimenting drawing some of the letters from my typeface I created eating a photocopier. I then did some more experimentation but using collage and different texture techniques to create a unique design some what inspired by Dadaism. The blocks of colour remind me of de stijll and neoplasticism which is an art movement which I research previously. Using neoplasticism as inspiration I then did some further experimentation. To create this piece I have collected some of the wrappers from quality street chocolate to use for the coloured squares as they gave me the inspiration and it also stops the plastic going to landfill. This links to my project about the environment as I have stuck an image behind each coloured square that has a connotation with pollution and climate change. It illustrates the struggle that we are facing and the future we are striving towards.I also experimented with the wrappers by photographing them and twisting them around to make them look like flowers to represent the increasing amount of plastic in thrown away until one day real flowers right to be able to grow. A placement of my laptop screen and took pictures as I was fascinated by them shapes and patterns produced as a light shone through.
