First i did some reaserch on some the the most successful ice cream brand names to see where they got their insporation from. These included walls, Haagen-Dazs, Booja-Booja, Judes, Ben and Jerry's, Bluebell creameries, Baskin and Robbins and Dairy Queen. Most of these companies use the first or last name of its founder.

I then made a giant mindmap of any words that came to my head and researched their synonyms for more inspiration.

A few ideas i acme up with are Milo's, Arctic Tropics, Tropical Freeze, Perla de Coco and Dairy Freeze.

Milo is my name. Arctic and freeze have cold connotations, and tropics is associated with coconuts. Perla de coco means coconut pearl and i think that just sounds cool. Its in spanish as not only does it look cool, spain is what i associate with ice cream.

In the end i have decided to go with Dairy Freeze as it is a play on words of Dairy freee( which is the product breif) and freeze which is connoted with ice cream. When i design the logo it will be clear emphasissing the free part so that theres no confusion.

Now you have broadly established your brand name - though remember this is and should be seen as adaptable as the design process continues - start to research the broader breadth of the relevant market, for example, what constitutes a high-end product design aesthetic over the designs of a low-end budget; compare colour palettes and typography, etc.

Once you've established this level of visual vocabulary then decided where you believe you'd like to 'pitch' your brand accordingly.

Keep up the excellent work ...
